Here we are again, at Watami. This time, we were in One Utama. We purposely came on weekday, for its lunch set. It was my mate's command, for the oshizushi only available on weekday's set lunch menu. Again, we came for late lunch, about 2pm, I think. We were persuade by the waitress, not long after we placed our order for our drink, a Ginger Ale and a Tea with Milk, to purchase a Watami's vouchers at RM5. The voucher contains of 6 free items, each valid for one item per month. This month, as Watami postponed its December's redemptions period, we were allow to claim for December free item which is a Yuzu Marmalade Soda together with January's free, a Gokujou Chawanmushi.
So, we ended with 3 drinks on table. Drinks were generally ... ... normal. Gokujou Chawanmushi is worth ordering even if its chargeable.
Since my mate has a very specific target to aim for, he made up his mind pretty fast after a quick glance over the set menu, only one set served his purpose well, a Shoyu Ramen & Salmon Oshizushi set. However, he was hit with a news that Watami do not serve Shoyu Ramen that day due to some issues with Shoyu's suppliers. He was so shock and sad, flipping over the menu again for food. Poor boy, but he has a partner who knows well on finding loophole. You served Watami Shio Ramen with Salmon Oshizushi as Tuesday's special and Shio Ramen is available in the main menu, I voiced, is it possible for you to replace the Shoyu Ramen with Shio Ramen? We don't mind to pay if there a price different. The waiter excused himself to seek for confirmation from restaurant manager, the result was positive. The boy's face shines with big smile again.
So, we were having a Tuesday's special on Wednesday. The ramen was present nicely. Chicken broth taste clearer than pork based broth which has thicker flavouring. Not too bad, he smiled. Oh, Salmon Ozhisushi was a great one, we both love this so much till we left a note on the comment's sheet, please make this available on the menu.
I got myself a Yakisaba Teishoku, in layman's term, a Roasted Mackerel Set, which came along with a bowl of white rice, a bowl of salad, and a miso soup. I like Mackerel, it was roasted perfectly, skin was crispy yet remains juiciness in flesh. I was thinking of ordering it from the main menu next time.
Next time? Yes, of course. We got the vouchers and we do plan to use it, monthly.
- the end -
Even after a 10-day Japan trip, I still crave for Jap food. Drooling over my computer now while reading this post. Mmm, I prefer thicker broth when it comes to ramen.
ReplyDeleteWell, we always craving for Jap food isn't ?
DeleteYeap, thicker broth in ramen always taste great but this one was surprisingly quite well done as well. Of course it can't compare with those specialty in ramen but worth a try still
Looks so yummeh~~
