What do you think a shop name itself Toast and Roast sells? For me, I thought its a bakery shop, same goes to my mate. No, it sells char xiu and xiu yok. Oh, and xiu gai too. The printed address for this shop is in SS2. To be precise, it is not in the main heart of SS2. It is in a quiet residential area. If you know where is SS2 Mall, just drive straight all the way ... .... until you hit the dead end. Yes, a dead end where you will find shop lot on your right, where you won't miss the orange colour signboard of Toast and Roast. We were here, 10 o'clock in the morning, witnessed the amount of char xiu for a business day.

We started with 2 bowls of Original Hakka Noodle. I remembered the first time of our visit, late evening, just before the business end. Nothing left for us, no char xiu, no xiu yok, only a xiu kai pei. We ordered for original hakka noodle, which successfully made us a return customer. A simple yet flavourful bowl. A small plate of char xiu was ordered, to go along with hakka noodle. Half was gone before the noodle's arrival.

Sweet, crispy, juicy, melted in mouth

Noodle was served, with minced pork and fish flakes. Noodle is tangy, minced pork is tasty and fish flakes is crispy. Imagine the perfectness in mouth. 

Small plate of char xiu was sweep clean, another medium portion was ordered to go along with half more bowl of noodle. Remember, always stress on half lean half fat. 

Forget about the diet, forget about the fat. The time to enjoy, a plate of thick cut char xiu. We shall just order for medium portion next time, he said, I nodded. Yes, we should.
