We stayed overnight at 9Fen, was attracted by the room from 溫莎堡 (ref: http://windsor.idv.tw/WindsorE.asp). I made my reservation on 日光函館3 with weekday rate at TWD3, 200. As we were behind schedule at Teapot mountain, thus I called to the guest house informing that we might be late to check-in. She sounds surprise when I reported my location.
After came down from them mountain, we went for the cafe shop run by Windsor to register ourselves and get the room key. There is a walking distance of 5 - 10 minutes from cafe to 函館3. Oh ya, we made 函館3 as final choice because of this -> wooden bath tub. At least it looks not much different from official web photo.
had wonderful time soaking in it
It is a double story house. Downstairs is a sofa with water dispenser and small TV (untouched during the whole stay). There is also a balcony for in house guest to enjoy the scenic view of 9Fen. I setup a tripod for night scene shooting here.

Upstairs is mainly resting area, equipped with king size bed and washroom. Bed is designed facing a huge window. Of course, outside at the window is the unique view of 9Fen. Not forget about the side sitting, its designed for laying down to enjoy the breeze and scene.

After a short rest, we decided to drag our painful and heavy body for some food. As known, 9Fen is famous for 竽圓, 肉圓, 魚圓 ... etc .. To be frank, I don't like 竽圓, so does my mate. We decided to walk along the old street and bite anything that interest us. Take note that most of the shops close around 6pm during weekday.
With a full tummy back to room, my mate dragged his painful leg upstairs to rest while I still busy with the night scene shooting. It's a beautiful night with fireworks at port far away celebrating the last day of CNY.
Our room came with free breakfast serve at Windsor's cafe. It was raining heavily since mid night. We had a quick cleaned up in the freezing weather, packed our belonging and walked ourselves to the cafe. Not to mentioned the leg's pain got worst -.-'''
Without bringing additional jacket, my mate was still with his short sleeves shirt while I was a little better with a long sleeve tee. What protect us from the strong wind and heavy rain are our beloved Columbia waterproof jacket. Thumb up for Columbia, really do its job well. Yet, the weather was still freaking cold.
Few tables in cafe were filled by guests, probably in house guests as well. We were brought to an empty table and served with with a cup of hot coffee. Of course, you may request for tea instead. We were then served with a plates of sandwiches with some fruits and sweet potato.
hot coffee
sweet potato was superb!
We stayed in the cafe for quite a while, hopping the rain could be at least slow down. Too bad, our lucky was used up. There was no more sunshine for the remaining of our journey in Taiwan. However, I was thankful that we managed to get to the peak, enjoyed the fantastic view at a sunny day.
9Fen is always crowded, and worst is during weekend. We love the slow pace at night and early morning here.
