Today dinner - Bumbung nasi lemak
, one of the best nasi lemak in town. Maybe you don't know about Bumbung ... ... how about Sea Park Maybank nasi lemak. Guess lots know about it now. Instead of it's original name Bumbung, people normally direct it as Maybank nasi lemak. The stall is just beside Maybank Sea Park, and yes ... Maybank does not enter food industry and start selling nasi lemak.
, one of the best nasi lemak in town. We reached there around 6pm, usual dinner time for us. Fried chickens already kept tall in basket, few tables were occupied. Lucky us now, there is no longer sitting beside main road. Tables are all move to the small road in between Maybank and the stall. Hmm ... one road length of tables indicate how good is the business.
Bumbung only do night time business, from 5.30pm to 4am. There is no direct sun shine towards the tables after 5pm, good time to start come over for food. I heard the crowd can be crazy sometime. No worry of you can't spot the stall if you are a first timer, just follow the great smell and you will eventually reach the destination. By the way, there is a Bak Kut Teh stall run by chinese few steps away.
Bumbung is a mamak run by Indian. Other than the famous, every table must have nasi lemak, fried and soup instant noodle are both available as well. We sat at one of the table, approached by a waiter ordering for 2 nasi lemak.
Our orders served fast, a plate of nasi lemak with fried chicken, peanuts and ikan bilis topping with a sunny side egg. I can smell the great aroma of coconut from my seat when this was served.
A scope of sambal was put at side, quite a lot actually. While I was wondering if the portion of sambal will be too spicy for me, my mate was happily mixing everything together and start praising the chicken, the rice and the sambal. Not spicy la ... it is sweet ...
Hmmm ... sweet? With the curious feeling, I tried a little of the sambal. Ermm ... it is not as spicy as I thought, there is a tinge of sweetness well balance the taste of spicy. I'm safe, happily mixing everything together. The fried chicken taste different from common Malay style, which usually marinated with kunyit. This fried chicken carries Indian spice taste which is rarely available.
As for the portion of nasi lemak, I'm pretty full after one plate, however my mate still has extra slot to try out Ibumie goreng. It is only another brand than Indomee. Frankly, I prefer Indomee. The noodle of Ibumie is much softer and tasteless. Moral of the story, just go back to Sukumaran for Indomee goreng, double with egg.
The final bill for 2 nasi lemak plus a Ibumie goreng with a teh-o ice and teh ice = RM14.50. Great meal with good price. As per my mate, this will be his Sunday dinner spot for quite a while. His reward after a hard work of walking TTDI hill.
