One of our mission was trying all outlets available, not too much thankfully. 5 outlets plus pre-booking sunset dinner by beach which I had rule it out due to price concerned (RM205++ per person, minimum 2 persons). We are not going for Hornbill Restaurant for dinner since its going to serve us breakfast. Not Golden Oriole Lobby Lounge & bar since none of us a drinker. Kingfisher Poolside bar is close at dinner. Monkey bar was closed for the private wedding function and we left with one last choice, Pacific Terrance.
We were early for dinner, the only customer that time. Seated at the corner of the wooden deck, with a stunning sea view, free show of on going wedding ceremony, and under attacked by mosquito.
mineral water, gunner and fruit punch
toasts and appetizer
The service was efficient, we were handed with some toasts with butters not long after we placed our order. My gunner and my mate's fruit punch were both arrived not long after that. The mocktail gunner luckily does not taste like battery water. We had a Pangkor Crabcakes as appetizer, quite a big bowl salad with 2 crabcakes. Salad was fresh for sure, just ... the crabcakes taste very Idian-y. It was still a very fun dish to enjoy.
soup?
Not paying attention while glancing, my mate thought he was looking at soup section where this listed at the bottom of mushroom soup and onion soup. We took a fast glanced at the description and captured only tomato in coconut shell. It served cold. We both looking at each other and ... a cold soup? I took a look at menu and read properly again. It is a Chilled Gazpacho, a roasted tomato simmered with orange juice and chilled in a coconut shell. We both mis-read the CHILLED as CHILLI. And yes, this suppose to serve chilled, it just happen that we both did not read properly! What I would comment is this thing taste strange, it just not my bowl of soup.
seabass
Our main course was Aromatic Grilled Seabass. The fish was nicely grilled, not the best ever but at least is up to my standard. I loves the potato chunks, baked with butter, taste fattening.
dessert
A grand dinner never be perfect without ending with a great dessert. I choose the longest dessert name in the menu, Lemon parfait paired with pineapple compote. I thought it was an ice cream when it served, suppose to be soft then? It was quite hard to cut through with my spoon, something hard blocking it. There were actually pineapple and banana chunks as the first topping in the cream, bottom with vanilla mousse. It was a delightful dessert to end the dinner.
