Edo Ichi, First Subang

I picked up my mate after work, slightly later than the time it supposed to be. It was nearly 6pm. The traffic was not too bad and we were not too hungry. I'm not too sure why am I telling all this thing, but the main point was my mate suggested for a decent dinner. Empire Subang was always the first choice came to mind, whenever this kind of idea prompted during weekday's dinner ... before it "kaboom" ... So ... no more Empire, First Subang maybe? A try for new shopping mall in SS15.

We drove back to get ourselves off from the working attire, then drove to First Subang. Again, the traffic was not too bad even it was near 7pm. We spend our time loitering in First Subang indexing this new shopping mall. Edo Ichi was the first caught my attention with it's grand exterior. I did not flip the menu until there was seriously no other choices left. Surprisingly, price level for Edo Ichi is very friendly, a lot cheaper than I expected it to be.

We were leaded to a window seat and handed with 2 menus. We were again amazed by price. It is at a competence level as Sushi King price, probably slightly higher. Put aside the price, Edo Ichi do offer a large variety of food. My mate proceed to order for a Kimuchi Nabeyaki (layman term is Kimchi Ramen) and I got myself a Gyu Curry with selection of Udon (this mean Curry Udon). We decided to give it a try on  Volcano roll too.

Need not waited for long, waiter delivered us our meals. The utensils are classy, I admit that I really like my 'bowl' of curry udon very much ... yes ... I mean ... the 'BOWL'

The Kimuchi ramen not as kimochi as my mate expected it will kimochi him .. The taste ... hmmm ... .... instant noodle ... a kimchi flavor instant noodle

As for my Curry Udon ... oh ... my curry udon tasted so .... plain. The curry was too watery, diluted the curry powder taste. Well, at least the udon is chewy and beef is tender.

The volcano arrived while we were busying eating. I did not spotted that it was actually sushi roll topping with special made sauce (when I view it from menu). This dish was presented nicely in a bowl.

Comment? The sauce is interesting. Sushi roll .... taste like a normal sushi roll.

Frankly, I am personally very disappointed with the food. However, the quality of food does equivalent to the price it charged for. It is just that me and my mate were expecting a little extra ordinary as presented by it's exterior design. Regardless of the above, Edo Ichi does offer an elegant dine in environment with affordable price.
