It was again a do-nothing Sunday, favorite day of the week. After the rainy afternoon, while both of us lazying on the floor in living room, enjoying cool and windy weather, then my mate suggested for a tea break out at somewhere. Somewhere? Ya, somewhere. OK ... let's try out Pick n' Brew! If it is not open for business, we will just move to Cita Mall. I guess we were lucky that Pick n' Brew does open on Sunday, and the tea time special is valid during weekend too.
Frankly speaking, ever since Pick n' Brew moved out from 1U, even though we know that the original cafe is located in Glenmarie, yet, we never pay it a visit til now. It is just nearby KFC and directly opposite Domino's. No, it is not outlets. Its factory. Yes, a cafe in factory area which successfully survive throughout the years (I don't understand why it can't make it through in 1U ... ) It is pretty empty during our visit, only one table was occupied. The environment is cosy and quiet (can't be too noisy since only 4 customers)
Pick n' Brew serves coffee. Other than the core coffees listed in separate listing, you may find latte or cappuccino under beverage section in main menu. Since there are 2 promotions for tea break (starts from 3pm - 6pm), both also at RM12+, hence, we decided to order for both. One order come along with dessert while another come along with pie. As for coffee, my mate decided to goes for Liberation, which is a combination of Brazil and Sumatra, where my choice goes for Exuberance, a mixture of Sumatra, Brazil and Indonesia.
Not waited for long, waiter served us with 2 'jug' of coffee. Yeah, house brew coffee is serves this way. Each 'jug' is design for 2 cups of coffee.
My blueberry danish was served warm! The staff heated the danish before it sent to desk. On the other hand, it took quite a while for my mate's pie to reach our desk. 15minutes maybe. Seems like pie needed more time for preparation.
I would say it is worth the waiting time. This pie serves with a mushroom based sauce, which gave an additional flavor on the pie, definitely leveled up the taste. The pie itself was full with cheese. Chicken and mushroom slices were 'wrapped' in the cup of warm cheese. I don't mind to travel all the way to Glenmarie just for this pie in a cup weeiiii .... Gentle update: This dish is not listed in menu, can't order for ala-carte, only available during tea break.
A nice evening time spend together in Glenmerie. Thanks to the cooling weather, happen to encourage us looking for a coffee session. Pick n' Brew, I'm sure it will be our choice if we craving for a quiet coffee time again.
