Yes, there is a cafe in Malacca sells all the 13 states' coffee in Malaysia. I knew this cafe years ago, and we paid a visit for it's branch at Pahlawan mall 2 years ago. This time, I finally able to steps in its original cafe locate near Jonker main street.
The cafe name is Calanthe Art Cafe, where we first thought they only serve coffee and maybe light snacks. Eventually, this cafe sells local cuisine as well. Breakfast is also available during Saturday and Sunday. By the way, it is just few steps away from Stable. Very convenient for us, just walked there for our dinner instead

Very cute menu, filled up with saliva dripping dishes. Of course, we were here at the first day evening, aiming for a coffee break at first. As usual, a coffee break somehow turned to be a late lunch or ... early dinner
... I aimed for hot Glaze and probably a plate of samosa, not knowing that my mate was drooling over Nyonya laksa. And ... all because of this laksa, it started our visit and revisit to this cafe again and again.

Day I
Hot Glaze that taste more like chocolate drink due to the scoop of chocolate ice-cream. Ya, looks like affogato too.
Samosa and popiah. Yes I know, ermm ... no I don't know ... I thought I ordered for samosa only, then I saw there is a mixture plate of samosa and popiah. So .... anyway ... both taste great especially eat along with the chili sauce provided.
Then, there come the main devil thing that 'jampi' us. This laksa kuah is thick and rich in aroma. One of the best so far to be frank. It listed as recommended by many in the menu, and now I know why.
After this meal, we hardly have any space for food in Jonker night market. After a tour at the night market, we decided that we will settle our tomorrow dinner at Calanthe cafe, then only have a slow walk at Jonker since there is nothing catchy there.
Day II
On the second day morning, we went to a local coffee shop for noodle as breakfast. It was still early after our breakfast, far from the time we needs to check-out from Hangout. Thus, we walked to Calanthe cafe again, knowing that it does open for breakfast (Saturday and Sunday only). We just ordered for 2 local coffees and relax ourselves at the cafe till near check-out time.
yes, only 2 drinks for 1 morning
After a meal at Nadeje, we headed for check-in to Stable. We were busy exploring Stable until night falls where we walked ourselves to Calanthe again.
I remember that I ordered for a Dream .... a hot honey and milk drink, interesting taste. My mate ordered for Cendol Ice Blenz. Very thick aroma of gula melaka, very delicious and refreshing. I likes the big red beans, sweet in taste.
I was aiming for the Friday to Sunday special, Claypot Asam Pedas, while my mate spotted his favorite Kurma Mutton. Of course, a small plate of snack food was ordered too.
Claypot Asam Pedas
Kurma Mutton
fried otak-otak?
A little disappointment I will say. Might be due to the superb laksa we had, hence we were expecting something extraordinary. Put aside our initial expectation, the main dishes are still very delicious. On the other hand, I personally don't enjoy the snack food. It is flour wrapped over otak-otak, then deep fried it? I think. It is crispy, yes, but I can't taste otak-otak anymore.
It was still early after our dinner, we decided to have a walk at Jonker. Some of the stalls did not open for business, Jonker looks a little empty today and much more quieter than last night. Hey, I don't mind to come over on Sunday night for a walk, rather than packed with people on Saturday night.
