Since Number Twenty has sold out, I was forced to scan through all the hotels listed in hostelworld.com and agoda ... again. After a day of "survey", I decided that Hangout@Jonker will be our first night stay in Malacca. As shown at their website, the room looks clean! Hangout is pretty new hotel in Jonker area. Yes! It is not hostel nor guesthouse, RM150++ per night, can't group it under hostel right? Thankfully my Agoda's point knocked off almost 60% of the room rate, slightly released the tightness at our budget.
It is at a very strategic location. We actually went back to hotel quite often to take a short rest, searching for information and replenished our water. It it just a stone throw away to Jonker's main entrance, beside the everyday long queue famous Chop Chong Hua chicken rice and Sam Sok Gong. Brand new white building which is obviously different from its neighbour.
It took a while to reach our turn to check-in, a small check-in and out counter they have, with only one receptionist. Oh ya, they do use key card system. RM30 as deposit for 2 cards issued to us, returned during check-out. Breakfast is inclusive, white bread with coffee and tea. Coffee and tea are free flow all day long though.
Room is keep in good condition, very bright and clean. We were given a room facing main street, nothing bad happen til the night falls when we were going to bed. It was noisy! Imagine a Saturday night Jonker right in front of your window?
